Swimming Notes

Some swimmers have all the potential in the world but never realize it.
Archbishop Wood senior Billy Langlois always had the potential, and this season, he is definitely living up to it.
"He's always had such a natural stroke, a beautiful stroke," said Vikings coach Charlie Stillwell, adding that at times it looks like he's going slower than he is. "That's because he's so smooth in the water. It doesn't look like he's trying because with his ability, it's almost effortless."
This season Langlois has been swimming exceptionally. His times have been better than they were last season at the Philadelphia Catholic League championships.
"I've put him in situations where he has a chance to step up, and he's done it because I think he's realized how good he really is," Stillwell said. "He wants it this year; he's happy.
"He was always somewhat on the quiet side but this season, being a captain, it's been a huge difference. Everything has worked out for him this year. He's been phenomenal."
