Charlie Stillwell
Head Coach


Coach Charlie Stillwell Charlie has been the Archbishop Wood Head coach for both the Boys and Girls team since the 1997-1998 swim season. Charlie was and assistant coach with Wood in 1996 before taking over as head coach and was an assistant coach with the Wood girls team in 1984 and 1985. His swimming career began as a freshman where he swam for Archbishop Wood, making All-Catholic his last three years on the team, where he was a Co-Captain his Senior year. He went on the swim in college at the University of Maryland where he set school records in the 100 Breaststroke and 400 Medley Relay his Junior year. Charlie currently works in the computer industry as a network administrator.




John Nurek
Assistant Coach


Coach John Nurek John returns to coach again to coach for his fourteenth year. John had three daughters who swam for Wood and brings a great wealth of experience to the team. John is especially adept at training our newer swimmers proper stroke technique.



Angie Nurek
Assistant Coach


Coach Angie Nurek Angie returns to coach Wood for her eight year. As a former swimmer at Wood, Angie will help in all aspects of coaching. Angie has big aspirations this year. She is practicing to be a big star on American Idol. Although tone deaf and can't sing a lick, Angie has been getting ready for the big day by singing in the shower for the last few months. She is hoping to score a big record label album with songs she makes up that don't rhyme and only appeal to small children. She does voice training by recording her songs on her tape recorder, calling up random people on the phone and asking for tips while she plays back her songs. Good luck Angie, we look forward to seeing you in Hollywood someday.

Jessica Rios
Assistant Coach

 

Coach Jessica Rios Jessica is in her second year as a coach. Jessica swam for Archbishop Wood excelling in the backstroke and freestyle events and graduated from Wood in 2006. She went on the swim for Widener University and graduated with a degree in food service management. Jessica will be a welcome addition to our coaching staff having the experience as a former swimmer.


Kyle Atras
Assistant Coach

 

Coach Jessica RiosKyle is in his first year as a coach. Kyle swam for Archbishop Wood excelling in the distance freestyle events and graduated from Wood in 2007. He went on the swim for Hood University and graduated with a degree in sports management. Kyle is currently working at a sports station in Washington DC. Kyle will be a welcome addition to our coaching staff having the experience as a former swimmer.
